Reading level of children may be can known
by story book serial, from the most easy until the most difficult. After
children read books serial like “Agar Anak Anda Gemar Membaca” by Fahim
Musthafa, so they must answer some question to know their understanding level.
If they have difficulty to continue reading, they may return to easier reading.
However, if they success, they may continue more difficult reading.
Choosing reading level of children can done
children by their effort, that is by reading a book without error. In this
situation, teacher must control when children are reading book loudly, nature
intonation, and balance expression. Although they are controlled, children must
feel free from whatever, this straight sitting or relax standing. If this
method is done by children continually of course their reading ability will
increase under teacher controlling. Although, in this level children are given
difficult reading, he will read it well without teacher help.
Children will frustration if they do not
can read book. Usually, children will read loudly with many errors. On the
other hand, children looked stress and can not understand almost of their
reading. In this situation, teacher should know their ability level, so that it
is easy for him solve this problem.
After teacher determine reading level of
children, then must choose story books from school library. The books must one
level above ability level of children, so that teacher can know the new error
in children’s reading. However, it should be attention, do not make children
frustration because of that reading, so that they can take advantages from
their reading.
It is better if teacher give task to
children to read and understand one paragraph without teacher help. Children
must read loudly, they must depend on their self when interpreting the meaning
of a sentence that they do not understand. Children must tell it again every
they finish read. While teacher must write every their errors to determine
their understanding level in sentences, or if teacher need record children’s
reading in special cassette to know their error more detail.

children influenced by genetic and environment factors. The stimulus
environment to potency children in elementary school periods very influence of
their talent development. Development of ability children began since early age
periods, so the parent and teacher must can to direction and develop talent and
interest of students.
The talent is potency that bring since of
birth by every individual who can developed with education and exercise,
whereas interest is attention focus of someone for activity supporting by creativity
and environment.
According badger there are seven types of
intelligence the first linguistic intelligence is ability to use words and
language. Second logical mathematical intelligent is ability to use reason
logic and numbers, third bodily kinesthetic intelligence is ability to control
body movements and handle objects skill fully. Fourth spatial intelligence is
ability to perceive the visual. Five musical intelligence is ability to produce
and appreciate music. Sixth interpersonal intelligence is ability to relate,
good at communicating and understand other’s feeling. The last interpersonal
intelligence is ability to self-reflect and very aware of their own feelings.
The seven types of intelligence very influence talent and interest development.
The talent and interest development of
elementary school student can developed with extracurricular activities, for
example singing, dancing, acting, sports, boy scouts, etc. So that, potency,
talent, interest and creativity of students wished can increase their quality.
Many student develop of their knowledge and
skill. So the quality of ability human can increase with extracurricular
activities. Whereas achieve can increase self-confidence to every student.
